Colleen Redit, from New Zealand, began CMCT in India. It was registered in India in 1979. From the beginning its aim has been to uplift, educate and train men, women and children in occupations which give them a future of hope and dignity.
The goal of BCMCT is to help achieve the ministry aspirations of the CMCT Board and to fulfil the expectations of the NZ supporters.
A POEM BY BRUCE
In South India’s Chennai, a dream came alive,
A pioneer named Colleen did tirelessly strive.
Now with 320 CMCT employees, their spirit untamed,
Reaching slum thousands, a mission that can’t be tamed.
Bethany Schooling, a beacon in the night,
Guiding students with knowledge, shining bright.
24/7 dedicated to high-quality care,
Bethany Hospital, a place where hope and healing share.
35 rally clubs, spreading love far and wide,
Reaching out to the forgotten, standing side by side.
Leprosy, Elder Care, Street Dwellers, and HIV,
Helping those in need; no hope, giving them a chance to live.
From the slums with 3000 to 50000 in sight,
Empowerment the goal, breaking poverty’s tight,
Education and employment, the keys to success,
CMCT breaking the poverty cycle, no more distress.
